Jamie Kane, M.D.
Dr. Jamie Kane received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University. He earned his M.D. at SUNY Downstate and then completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Yale University. As a Yale faculty member, he has been invited to speak as an expert in the area of medical weight loss to Yale residents and faculty. He also created an innovative obesity program in a group practice in Connecticut.
Dr. Kane has long been passionate about chronic disease prevention. He has always strongly believed that individuals and communities, with the help of caring, trained professionals, can make powerful changes critical to overall health and well-being. He applies his passion for physical fitness to his personal practice. He was a ranked junior tennis player and co-captain of the intercollegiate squash team at Columbia. Dr. Kane continues to participate in competitive USTA tennis events.
Yoon Im Kane, LCSW
Yoon Im Kane is a licensed psychotherapist in New York and Connecticut. She received her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and her masters’ degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ms. Kane received a two year post-graduate fellowship at the Yale Medical School Child Study Center, where she was also a Bush fellow for Child development research and social policy. She has extensive training and experience in treating depression, anxiety and trauma and has conducted workshops and groups for women struggling with mood and binge eating disorders.
Ms. Kane’s philosophy is centered on a belief that nurturing relationships can provide the foundation for individuals to make positive changes in their lives. She provides personal and group counseling to patients who are making healthy lifestyle changes. Cognitive behavioral, supportive, and educational interventions are provided to patients to ensure safe and effective weight loss and life choices.
